Our programs use a people-centered partnership approach that supports capacity development and community strengthening to deliver genuine and sustainable improvements.
Our programs connect people and organisations internationally to achieve shared goals through the volunteer efforts of diverse and highly skilled and motivated people from Australia and around the world – including emergency medical specialists, curriculum developers, surf life savers, lawyers and financial managers to landmine clearers and even an ethnomusicologist.

Australian Volunteers Program
The Australian Volunteers Program matches a broad range of skilled Australians with partner organisations across the Pacific, Asia and Africa, contributing to sustainable development outcomes. AVI manages the program, in an AVI-led consortium with DT Global and Alinea International, on behalf of the Australian Government.

Health Programs

The Solomon Islands Medical Partnership for Learning, Education and Research
Established in 2015 to support the supervision and training of large numbers of returned foreign-trained medical graduates to Solomon Islands, this medical education and training program (locally known as SIMPLER) has since expanded to include system-strengthening improvement projects and continuous medical education opportunities.

Australian College for Emergency Medicine
The Visiting Emergency Medicine Registrar Program assignments make it possible for ACEM trainees to complete placements with partner organisations in Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. Rotations under the VEMRP can be accredited towards the trainee’s ACEM training, depending on the individual’s circumstances.
Resilience Programs
Reece Foundation Water Project, Cambodia
Water Sanitisation Cambodia
In partnership with AVI, Reece Foundation volunteers in Cambodia installed large filtration systems into two schools that served the school children and their families.
Reece Foundation, Lismore
Plumbing flood-affected homes in Lismore
In Lismore the team assessed 80 flood damaged homes and replumbed kitchens and bathrooms in over 70 homes.

With over 70 years of experience in designing robust student mobility frameworks and mobilising hundreds of students every year, AVI is Australia’s premier secondary and tertiary education mobility and advisory specialists.

Blue Pacific Pro Bono Collaborative
The Blue Pacific Pro Bono Collaborative represents a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting enhanced access to justice and climate adaption and resilience, strengthening of law and justice systems, addressing unmet legal need, and supporting and further embedding pro bono culture and impact across the Pacific region. This initiative facilitates knowledge sharing and capacity development, and also promotes access to justice, stability, and community resilience in the Pacific, ultimately advancing shared security objectives and regional cooperation.
