Corporate Volunteering

AVI offers a number of ways for organisations to involve their staff in volunteering for development, but the easiest way is through our latest offering, SkillsBank.

78 per cent of Australian companies have provide staff with a number of days per year to volunteer as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. AVI applauds this commitment but also appreciates it can be hard to see these goals realised. Indeed, research shows, only 17 per cent of these companies reach their volunteer day target.

A number of challenges and missed opportunities are to blame, including cost of staff time spent organising, managing and reporting and lack of suitable opportunities with advertised volunteer assignments. All not-for-profits have skills gaps they need to source to operate effectively, but similar challenges exist at their end too. Identifying advertising, recruiting and managing skilled volunteer assignments is labour intensive and left to an already stretched human resources person or team.

That’s where AVI’s SkillsBank comes in, Australia’s first dedicated online skilled volunteering platform. We make it easy for your staff to register their availability and expertise and for charities to find and draw upon their skills when they’re needed most.

Simply direct your staff to AVI’s SkillsBank portal to register their expertise and available. We’ll take care of the rest.
