Unlocking potential and transforming lives in Vietnam
In Vietnam, as in many parts of the world, finding sustainable long term employment is a challenge for young people. 11.3 per cent of young people in Vietnam are not in education, training or employment and over 60 per cent work in jobs that are risky and unregulated. AVI has partnered with REACH Vietnam to present this not to be missed virtual event.
Since 2008, REACH Vietnam has helped over 21,000 of Vietnam’s young people by providing the vocational training, life skills and job opportunities they need to build a better future for them and their families. Over 80 per cent of young people who complete the program have been placed in ongoing employment. Reach works with over 1,500 business partners from various industries to deliver demand-driven training programs with sustainable employment outcomes.
AVI (Australian Volunteers International) has been a proud partner of REACH Vietnam for over 16 years, facilitating the placement of skilled Australian volunteers to help REACH meet its goals and objectives. This is a great example of how development agencies can support sustainable locally led change by supporting, rather than driving, the development process.
