International Mobilisation

Technical Advisors, Consultants & Mentors

AVI has worked with a number of partner organisations to find, recruit, screen, select, train and mobilise highly skilled Technical Advisors, Consultants and Mentors in a range of technical or thematic areas right around the world.

Harnessing the rigour and systems we have developed over decades, AVI can fulfil the needs of organisations, donors and managing contractors seeking technical advisors, consultants and mentors to build capacity on a range of levels.  – from one-on-one individual support to helping develop improved system-wide processes.

Our focus doesn’t stop at just finding the right people or person for a niche role, either. We make sure they are the best fit for the cultural context of the country and tasks involved.

AVI’s experience in project management and well development personnel management processes and systems ensures effective oversight of Technical Advisors, Consultants and Mentors and their deliverables, providing the best solution for our client’s needs.

We encourage any organisation interested in building upon their strengths or bridging a gap through the utility of technical advisors, consultants or mentors to reach out and see how we can work together. Drawing upon our vast network and database AVI can find a perfect, fit-for-purpose solution for your unique needs.

Examples of projects AVI has managed, engaging highly skilled Technical Advisors, Consultants and Mentors

Solomon Islands Graduate Internship & Supervision Support Project (SIGISSP)

Through the Solomon Islands Graduate Internship Supervision and Support Project (SIGISSP), trained Australian medical specialists assist in the supervision and training of large numbers of returned foreign-trained medical graduates in Solomon Islands, as well as providing continuous medical education opportunities. This work supports the Solomon Islands Ministry of Health and Medical Services and strengthens the roll-out of the medical workforce to rural and remote locations, as well as building more effective and efficient health systems, in line with the Solomon Islands’ National Role Delineation Policy.

Farmer Volunteers – Kenya

AVI partnered with the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) to launch the Farmer Volunteers – Kenya program. The program’s first volunteer was based at a local farm at Athi River, just outside Nairobi. There, he worked with local farmers, producer groups, and rural businesses to develop local capacity and help increase agricultural productivity.

In-Country Communication Officer Network

AVI worked with the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) to recruit and deploy a network of communications professionals in Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Vietnam and Kenya. The In-Country Communication Officer Network (ICCON) initiative aims to raise greater awareness of ACIAR’s agricultural research and projects in the Pacific, East Asia, South and West-Asia and Eastern and Southern Africa regions.
