PACE International

Macquarie University’s unique Professional and Community Engagement (PACE) is an active learning program designed to provide students with distinctive educational experiences in experiential learning with a range of local, regional and international partners.

From 2008 to 2015, the international arm of this program known as PACE International, was jointly delivered by Macquarie University and AVI, successfully seeing over 700 students work with 40 community partners across nine countries.

Under a new partnership agreement signed in 2016, AVI continues to provide in-country student management and pastoral care, country and location-specific intelligence, co-ordination of critical incident response, partner identification, monitoring and liaison support in Cambodia, Vietnam Indonesia, India, Fiji and Nepal.

AVI also works with Macquarie University to recruit and support a number of Volunteer Team Leaders. Team leaders are responsible for overseeing the health and wellbeing of student participants and ensure the successful delivery of the project.
