Australian Volunteers for International Development

Australian Volunteers for International Development (AVID) program logo.The Australian Volunteers for International Development (AVID) program is an Australian Government initiative. The program provides opportunities for skilled Australians to contribute to the Australian Government’s aid program.

Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) was founded in Britain in 1958 and has since become a truly global organisation. AVI and VSO work together to bring more life-changing volunteer opportunities to Australian and New Zealand citizens.

Indigenous programs

AVI works with indigenous communities across Australia. There are short term volunteering and learning exchanges for Indigenous Australians taking them South Africa and local-based programs working with communities like Oodnadatta.
