This month, AVI updated and released our Child Protection Policy. As an organisation involved in international volunteering, the safety and rights of children are paramount. Our Child Protection Policy details the procedures, practices and guidelines that inform and underpin the work of all those involved with AVI, from board members to volunteers, to ensure all of our work is safe for children. The policy was proudly developed in alignment with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), which asserts a child’s right to life, survival and development, participation, and non-discrimination.
The AVI Child Protection Policy is
reviewed and updated every two years.
