Happy NAIDOC week!

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

With the 2017 theme - Our Languages Matter - highlighting the essential role that Indigenous languages play in cultural identity, we wanted to share the reflections from a group of loud and proud (in their own words) Indigenous Australians, volunteering and celebrating culture in South Africa.

The Australian volunteers will be sharing photos, videos, and reflections to the Classic Wallabies Indigenous Exchange Facebook page. Be sure to follow for more vibrant progress updates!

Watch the Australian volunteers as they're treated to a welcoming ceremony on arrival to a rural community in Hoedpsruit, South Africa. The outpouring of hospitality and celebration prompted two of the Australian volunteers to bravely share their language and dance, much to the admiration of the community.

Check out the special NAIDOC Week live cross organized by the volunteers.
