The application form contains a number of selection criteria relevant to the advertised role. Please provide succinct answers (maximum 300 words per question) to these selection criteria, including at least one example that demonstrates your experience.

Please ensure you review the Role Profile, also located on the job advertisement, as it will contain detailed information on the role which we will refer to throughout the application process.

Shortlisting and interview procedures

Shortlisting of applications will take place soon after the closing date. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application. Due to the large volume of applications we receive, we are only able to provide interviewed candidates with feedback via the telephone.

The initial interview will include specific behavioural type questions relating to your approach, attitude, and experience of working in a similar capacity. These questions will be tailored to the position you have applied for. Subsequent interviews may involve follow-up questions where appropriate.

We require a minimum of two referees, of which at least one must be your current or previous direct line manager. We will contact all referees over the telephone in order to check the validity of the referee and ask specific questions about the referee's opinion of your suitability for work within the capacity of the role for which you applied.

Use of recruitment agencies

Where possible, AVI endeavours to recruit highly skilled and talented candidates using our own internal recruitment and selection methods. However, on limited occasions, recruitment agencies may be used to recruit for roles involving niche skills or other unique conditions.

We welcome phone queries from recruitment agencies, however; please be advised that there is no guarantee that a recruitment agency would be utilised as part of a standard recruitment drive.

Office volunteering, internships, work experience

AVI recognises the intrinsic value of voluntary service, appreciating that it is a special mix of contribution and personal growth and education. As such, the organisation acknowledges and supports people who give their free time and skills to support AVI in the conduct of its programs.

For any queries about becoming an office volunteer, internship or work experience, please email [email protected]

Please note that opportunities to become an office volunteer, internships, and work experience is reviewed on a case-by-case basis and not always guaranteed. Factor such as the scope of the internship/volunteering/work experience request, duration, team capacity, and other conditions are reviewed as part of the assessment.
