Antimicrobial Resistance in Pacific Island countries
After a successful 2.5 years the COMBAT-AMR program now forms part of a broader partnership for prevention, surveillance and response to infectious diseases across the Indo-Pacific region.
Since November 2020 the Doherty Institute, with the support of AVI’s in-country ethical recruitment service, has worked to address the threat of antimicrobial resistance in Pacific Island countries through its COMBAT-AMR program.
After a successful 2.5 years the COMBAT-AMR program now forms part of a broader partnership for prevention, surveillance and response to infectious diseases across the Indo-Pacific region.
The COMBAT-AMR project was made possible through a grant from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Indo-Pacific Centre for Health Security. A consortium of organisations led by the Doherty Institute and University of Melbourne, partnered with Pacific Island countries to address the rising threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
